Privacy Policy

The short version

Practice Calc is a set of free calculators for therapists in private practice. The numbers you type into a calculator stay in your browser and in the page address. We never store them in a database or on a server.

We keep your email address only if you ask us to email you your results. We don't sell or share it, and there are no ads or tracking cookies on this site.

The numbers you enter

The calculations run in your browser. Your inputs are written into the page address so you can bookmark the page or share it; anyone you give that link to can see the numbers in it. PDF reports are built in your browser and are never uploaded.

When you open a page, its address (including any numbers in a share link) is sent to our host like any other web request, and may appear in the host's short-lived request logs. We don't use those logs to look at, keep, or analyze your inputs.

If you email yourself your results

We store four things: your email address, which tool you used (or the home page), whether you asked for occasional updates (that box is unchecked unless you check it), and when you signed up. That is the only information we keep about anyone.

To write the email, our server recalculates your results from the link your browser sends, passes the message to our email provider for delivery, and then discards the numbers. They are never saved.

We send updates only if you opted in, and every update will include a way to unsubscribe.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to count visits. Plausible doesn't use cookies and doesn't store IP addresses. It records the page path but discards the rest of the address, so the numbers in a share link are not collected. It also records the referring site, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate location (country, region, and city).

We count a few anonymous events, such as the first time a calculator is used, a PDF download, or a copied link. These events record which tool was used and never include any amounts.

Cookies

Practice Calc doesn't set cookies and doesn't use your browser's local storage.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the site. Supabase stores the email list described above. Resend delivers the emails you ask for. Plausible provides the visit counts. Each of them processes this information only to provide its service to us.

Your choices

To have your email address deleted, write to hello@practicecalc.com from that address and we will delete it. To stop updates, use the unsubscribe link in any update or write to the same address.

Practice Calc is meant for working professionals and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes and contact
